Mixing and Curing Instructions – 2:1 Epoxy Resin
1. Measure: Measure 2 parts resin and 1 part hardener accurately according to the product’s specified ratio. For 300 ml total, use 200 ml resin and 100 ml hardener, provided the ratio is specified by volume.
2. Mix Thoroughly: Slowly stir both components for the time recommended by the manufacturer. Scrape the sides and bottom of the mixing cup to ensure an even mixture and minimise bubbles.
3. Pour: Pour the mixture slowly into a clean, dry mould or onto the prepared surface. Avoid exceeding the product’s recommended pouring depth.
4. Remove Bubbles: Use an appropriate bubble-removal method recommended for the resin. Avoid open flames.
5. Cure: Leave the project undisturbed in a clean, level, dust-free area at the recommended temperature. Curing generally takes around 12 hours, but may vary depending on climate, temperature, humidity, and casting thickness. Cooler conditions may slow curing, while warmer conditions may accelerate it.
6. Demould: Remove the piece only after it has fully cured and hardened according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Allow additional time if needed.
Safety Precautions: Wear suitable nitrile gloves and eye protection, ensure good ventilation, and avoid skin contact. Always follow the product’s technical data sheet for mixing ratio, working time, pouring depth, and curing time.
